Food with style by Milk & Mode

Filed Under: Guest Bloggers / Sightings

Carol Han from Milk & Mode gives us her list of the great foodie locations to stop next time we are in New York City – We’re so excited for our next trip! Of course, a local must go everywhere in style which is why she pairs our 620 in Renegade with a cute preppy blazer.

Milk and Mode

“One of the greatest things about living in a city like New York is the stunning amount of food choices you have on a daily basis. On any given night, there are a few buzzy new restaurants opening, a plethora of tried-and-true favorites, and even more places that you have on your ever-growing list of “restaurants to try.” It can get overwhelming, in the best way possible. Here are some of my latest favorite discoveries, given with the disclaimer that this list exists on a regularly rotating basis.

1. Locanda Vini & Olii: Brooklyn Italian at it’s best. It’s set in a century-old restored pharmacy, so the ambiance is really cool, but most importantly, the food is perfect.

2. Ramen Setagaya: I’m a huge ramen fan, and this tiny little no-frills restaurant is my new favorite. Get the shoyu ramen. Trust me.

3. Buvette: The little dishes here are rich and comforting, just the way French food should be.

4. Tia Pol: I recently rediscovered this tiny little wine and tapas bar when I went there before seeing Sleep No More in the same neighborhood. They’ve got some of the best Spanish tapas I’ve ever had, and it’s cozy and dark and romantic. Great for a date.

5. Xe Lua: Best pho in New York City (and that’s saying something). And the meat dishes, like the beef saute and chicken curry are delicious too.

6. The Dutch: It’s a bit sceney but the food here is fantastic. The pies are a must.

7. Forcella NYC: These guys just expanded from Brooklyn to a place right around the corner from my office across the street from the Bowery Hotel. They have fried pizza here. Enough said.

7. Blue Hill at Stone Barns: My boyfriend and I went to the Hudson Valley last month on one of the first truly chilly weekends of the season and managed to score a rare last-minute dinner reservation here. It was completely flawless and such a special way to ring in fall.”

We can’t wait to try out these restaurants when we’re back in NYC! Thank you, Milk & Mode for sharing this great post!
